EpiphoneHere we have a 1939 Epiphone Emperor with a New York Epiphone Masterbilt label. This instrument has a hand carved Adirondack spruce top, flamed maple back, and curly maple sides. Neck is a 7 layer laminate maple and mahogany neck. It comes with original Grover 12:1 Butterbean tuners, and gold Epiphone Frequensator tailpeice. This guitar was sent to Gibson, in Kalamazoo in the 60's for a neck replacement which was very common for this era of Epiphone. Gibson replaced the neck with a superior Gibson style truss rod neck, ES style rosewood bridge, and sprayed the guitar with a coat of nitro. 9 layer binding is original, and only the outermost layer is suffering binding rot and can be replaced if you wish. Guitar has a lovely high end, and a very deep low end. Includes hard shell case.
