This is the JBL E-130-8 Ohm (SN 44449) with its original factory cone. The E-130 is a high output, STRICTLY MIDRANGE 15" driver that should only be utilized to reproduce 125Hz and above. It is capable of extremely bright tone and is suitable for pedal steel, fiddle and as a dedicated midrange 150 - 2kHz driver in a high powered, three or four way sound system. Despite its 15" footprint, it will not function as a bass speaker. The driver will blow if pressed into delivering frequencies below 125 Hz. Because of this, it's almost impossible to find an E-130 that isn't blown or that hasn't been re-coned. (The E-140 or E-145 are the E series speakers designed for low bass reproduction.) This unit has all original, factory components and is a very rare find. As of this writing I have two of these. And I'd like to reiterate that even though the JBL spec sheet shows the frequency response as "50 Hz – 6 kHz" it will not survive more than a few seconds when low bass frequencies ranging between 50 - 125 Hz are delivered to it.
