For sale is a pair of 16” Heartbeat Epic series hi-hats. Medium-thin weights: 1250 grams top / 1446 grams bottom. A great pair of low-pitched sloshy hihats.
Very good condition according to Reverb’s guidelines, with no cracks, keyholes or flea bites.
Here’s how Heartbeat describes the Epic series:
“Epic Cymbals from Heartbeat Percussion feature a smaller bell than the Classic and Studio series and special thin lathing. Rich, warm and natural sound ideal when a mellow sound is desired. Perfect for jazz and quieter gigs. Buttery, dark and washy! Late 1960’s / early 1970’s jazz sounds are combined with today’s larger sizes to produce one of our most popular series.”
Heartbeat cymbals are made in Istanbul, Turkey. According to their website: “Our senior partner in Istanbul was trained in his craft by Mikhail Zildjian while hand crafting the famous Turkish K series.” (note: that’s Mehmet Tamdeger of the Istanbul Mehmet cymbal company).
