Vintage RCA 12AX7 / ECC83 Dual-Triode Preamp Tube | USA Made | Bench + Amplifier Tested
Genuine vintage RCA 12AX7 / ECC83 preamp tube from classic American RCA production.
Rather than relying solely on a tube-tester reading, this tube has undergone two-stage testing, including bench screening followed by an actual high-gain guitar-amplifier audition.
EICO 666 BENCH TEST
- Triode 1: 120
- Triode 2: 110
- Shorts / leakage: PASS
- Gas test: PASS
- Both triode sections tested strong and functional
Important: Tester readings are specific to the EICO 666, its settings, calibration and test procedure. Numbers are supplied to document this individual tube and should not be directly compared with readings from different tester models.
REAL-WORLD AMPLIFIER TEST
Following bench testing, the tube was installed and auditioned in the V1 preamp position of a PRS Archon high-gain guitar amplifier.
- V1 operation: PASS
- Microphonics: PASS
- No problematic ringing, squealing or mechanical feedback observed during tap testing
- Quiet operation at idle
- Stable during playing test
The V1 audition provides an additional real-world screening for noise and microphonics that a basic emission test alone cannot establish.
