RARE Vintage 1970s GIBSON Name Plate / Badge for Purple Lined Cases
Includes Purple Lining Residue to Prove Gibson Authenticity!!

Up for consideration is an original 1970s Gibson Name Plate / Badge for 1970s Gibson guitar and perhaps also their Bass cases. These 1970s badges are notorious for falling off the case, and then spending the next 50 years in the case compartment gathering purple felt linings. As you can see, this one has lots of purple felt linings attached to the back of the plate. I guess the 1970s double-sided tape used back in the Kalamazoo factory was not the strongest or longest-lasting.

Anyway, in case your case is missing the badge / name plate, and if you do want to get it back to vintage original for increasing the collector's value in case you should one day decide to sell it, this badge will help to make the package 100% authentic, and allow you to charge high dollars. Since most of these badges have fallen off, and nobody really knows exactly where they are supposed to go, I'm including a photo of somebody else's case showing the badge attached in the correct position. This is included for positioning purposes only, as the badge on that guitar case is not my badge, and hence not the one I have for sale here.

So I'm selling this as-is, and you will most likely want to clean off the backing, remove the purple felt residue, and reattach it to your case with some modern double sided tape. I will include a piece of double-sided tape should you wish to re-attach it to your case, or you can just let is roll around in your case compartment for another 50 years. Your call.
