Introduced in the 1960s. Here’s what Slingerland had to say about it:
“The new Rocket Throne is the throne you have been waiting for. It is without doubt the strongest most beautiful, finest designed throne ever built. All parts are hand polished and triple chrome plated. The seat is padded with sponge rubber and covered in tan naugahyde.”
Most beautiful? Finest designed? I’ll leave that up to you to decide. Nonetheless...its a perfect addition to your vintage Slingerland kit.
Rating this as Good Condition. It works as intended. Height adjustment works too. It is solid…but the seat is a bit wobbly, and there is a crack in the naugahyde.
I’m going to toss in a vintage flat base/period cymbal stand (made in Japan) at no extra cost.
