This is a massive 15” x 8” snare featuring Tama’s hybrid Maple/Bubinga shell construction with an outer Olive Ash ply and inner Cordia ply. The combination produces a huge, powerful backbeat with plenty of low-end body while still retaining the clarity, attack and high-end definition you’d expect from a Star Reserve.
The 8” depth and 15” diameter give this drum an exceptionally full, punchy voice. It also has a wide tuning range and sounds fantastic tuned low and fat. With the snares disengaged, it can even be used as an alternate floor-tom voice.
