Vintage Otto Link Super Tone Master Baritone Sax Mouthpiece – 4★ – Florida No USA

I played baritone sax professionally in a 1970s funk road band. I originally used a Brilhart mouthpiece, but later found this Otto Link and had to have it because of the sound. It gave the baritone a big, beefy low register while still producing a brighter, jazzy tone in the upper register — exactly what I wanted for the funk and R&B music we were playing.

I purchased this mouthpiece in Atlanta around 1973–74 and used it professionally for approximately 2 years. At the time we were playing 6–7 days a week, generally 4–6 hours a night plus rehearsals.

This is a vintage Otto Link Super Tone Master 4★ baritone saxophone mouthpiece, Florida No-USA style. It has never been refaced or modified and remains in its original facing.

It shows normal age, patina and finish wear from professional use and long-term storage. I have intentionally not polished or refinished it. It has not been played in approximately 45 years.

Included are the original Otto Link ligature, metal cap and original Super Tone Master box. The box is marked Baritone – Facing No. 4★ and retains its period David Wexler Co. dealer/inventory label.

I have owned this mouthpiece since I purchased it in the 1970s and would like to see it go to a baritone player or collector who will appreciate it.
