Mesa Boogie Mark 1 Re-Issue 100 Watt 1x12 Combo in Figured Maple with Wicker Grille, Very Good condition
The Mark 1 Re-Issue is Mesa's hand built recreation of the amp that started the company, the one Santana put on the map. It runs 100 watts from four 6L6GC power tubes with a switch down to 60, plus a Tweed mode that drops the circuit voltages for a softer, saggier response. This one is the hardwood cabinet version in figured maple with the woven wicker grille and tan leather handle, driving a Mesa Black Shadow MC-90. Serial number H02167.
Condition: Figured maple with strong flame through the sides and top, finish clear and even. Several dings and dents in the wood: a dark mark and small dent on the top near the corner, a light spot and dent on the upper right rear edge, a shallow chip at the upper rear corner, and scuffs with light scratching along the rear right edge. Chipped finish with small chunks of wood missing along the lower rear edge and around the bottom corners, shown in the photos. One rear rubber foot is cracked and split through, the other three are solid. Finger jointed corners are tight with no separation. Wicker grille is complete with no broken or lifted strands. Tan leather handle is supple with no cracking and both mounts are tight. Front panel lettering is crisp, all six knobs are present with clean pointers, and all three toggles are firm and Rear panel labels are legible. Speaker cone and surround are clean. Included Mesa cover shows fraying and a worn spot along one seam, otherwise clean with the logo intact. Manual, catalog, and price list are clean and complete in the original plastic envelope.
Test Results: Powers up with the blue pilot lamp lit and comes off standby correctly. Both inputs pass signal, with input 1 running the cascading gain circuit through Volume 1 and Volume 2 and input 2 running through Volume 2 only. Volume 1, Volume 2, Master, Treble, Bass, and Middle all sweep clean with no scratch or dead spots. The 100 and 60 watt switch drops output as it should, and the Tweed switch audibly softens and compresses the response. Rear panel Presence and Reverb both function with full sweep, and the spring reverb is quiet with no crash or hum. Effects loop passes signal through send and return with the Slave Level control working. Speaker plays clean with no rattle or buzz at volume. Set up for easy demo at our shop in Milwaukee, WI.
