A Custom Guitar Speaker Cabinet - Stunning Finish w/Tone Tubby 12” - Unused
I’m selling this speaker cabinet for $800, and I will pay the actual UPS Ground shipping cost from me to you. This cabinet comes with a 12” Tone Tubby speaker installed. That’s it!
I’m already paying 8.19% to Reverb for the privilege of this ad. That’s $65.52 ($800 - $57.33 = $734.48 net). That’s lower than I was originally going to go, but it is what it is. And I’m also paying for UPS Ground shipping cost from me to you.
You, on the other hand, will have the Reverb protection and the selling fee paid, the shipping cost covered, and the speaker cabinet shipped to you. So your price will be $ 700 payable to Reverb.
I’ve purchased a shipping box and a 4 x 8 sheet of Styrofoam from Home Depot to ship this speaker cabinet safely to you. That lowers my net even more, so please don’t ask if I can lower it further. I’ve already lowered my price below what would normally be considered a normal selling price.
Once the $800 has been paid in full, your speaker cabinet will be shipped to you the next business day;
That’s it!

This speaker cabinet has an impeccable finish on its tiger maple solid-wood walls and a black leather strap at the top. It’s available now (it’s finally finished) and has an internal mounting ring (painted flat black) that lets you use the cabinet as a 12” or 10” speaker cabinet. You just add the mounting ring if you are using a 10” speaker. Either size will work well, either the 12” or the 10” speaker.
I’m a former professional jazz pianist, and even though I love the sound of the guitar, I never learned to play it. Hence, I’m selling everything I own that is guitar-related and will go back to the piano. I can play that instrument, but at 80, I don’t have the 10,000 hours it takes to learn and play the guitar well. Hence, I’m selling this beautiful custom cabinet.
This cabinet hasn’t been played and has been sitting on top of my credenza, so I decided to sell it. I dusted it every two weeks to avoid scratching its incredible finish. I swept off any dust with a special brush, then used a cloth dedicated to dusting just this cabinet. I know I’m anal, but something this beautiful should show fingerprints or dust, and if this isn’t the way you keep it, at least I don’t have to look at it. However, it’s like receiving a brand-new speaker cabinet since its condition is stellar and like new.
The speaker cabinet comes with a Tone Tubby 12” mounted inside. That was the favorite of Sigmund Amps out of California. I chose the same speaker he provided and was blown away by the beauty of this cabinet and the speaker it now holds. Sigmund has died now, and all I have of him is this speaker, which he broke in for my use. He was also a Tone Tubby dealer and enjoyed using these speakers in all of his amps.
The cabinet was designed to Quilter’s dimensions, and I built it knowing this size was best. I purchased the Quilter speaker cabinet and really liked it, so I matched the internal dimensions of this one as closely as I could. It’s neither too large nor too small and sounds really good. It has good, balanced sound quality if you are using a 12” speaker. If you prefer a 10”, this cabinet has less bass bloom, and the midrange and treble are a bit different but still really nice.
This is the size cab I would use in my studio or as a practice amp, and also in a larger venue when playing in front of people. The chosen speaker might vary, but the cabinet would stay the same. I’d use the 12” size instead of the 10”, but both sound superb.
Consider this speaker cabinet if you want something that doesn’t look industrial and ugly. This one won’t. I challenge you to find something better-looking. Solid tiger maple wood with a grey stain and a glass finish like this cabinet’s is hard to find and worth the price.
