1970 Oliver Sound Company 150-R
This amp head  is from the Oliver Sound Company, established by the legendary Jess Oliver. He was a pivotal figure in amplifier design, particularly renowned for his groundbreaking work as Vice President and chief designer at Ampeg, where he invented the iconic B-15 Portaflex bass amplifier and was the first to integrate spring reverb into a guitar combo amp with the Ampeg Reverb Rocket. In 1966, Oliver founded his own company.

35 watts class AB amp, with 4 6EU7 Pre-amp and 1 6AN8A phase inverter, with solid state rectification and 2 6L6 Output tubes.

Two Channel and four inputs. Channel 1 consists of Volume, Bass and Treble controls. Channel 2 has Volume, Bass, Midrange, Treble, Ultra-High, Reverb, Tremolo Speed and Intensity.

We purchased the amp chassis without the original cab, so a pine, finger-jointed replica cab was built to match the original in size, and covered in black matching Tolex and metal corners. An original Oliver badge was located and is installed over a matching grill.
The circuit has been thoroughly serviced with new CE Electrolytic power cap and either F&T or Sprague electrolytics. Any leaking connecting caps were replaced with sprague caps and any drifted resistors replaced.
The existing tubes were all tested and 2 new 6EU7 NOS tubes were installed. All other tubes tested very good. A new Mod Reverb tank was fitted. Includes an original Ampeg style foot switch for Reverb and Tremolo control.

This is a rare amp from a legendary amp designer - and even shows some handwriting (possibly his) on the chassis. He was known to do this and was actively involved in the building of the amps.
It is great sounding, very clean, with strong reverb and tremolo, and takes pedals well.
