1996 Tex Mex Strat with hard shell case
This is a rare Stratocaster (rare in the sense that this guitar was produced for only two years (in 1996 and part of 1997), and then became the Jimmie Vaughn Signature Stratocaster in 1997 (see History below).
One of the MANY things I like about this Stratocaster is that the body is Factory Routed for a Humbucker that can be installed in the Bridge position if you desire one.
Condition:
I find it hard to rate the condition of a guitar that is 30 years old the same as I would a newer year used one, and even though I would consider its Condition overall as Excellent, I will understate it, and will call it Very Good Condition, but the lucky Buyer will know what I mean once they receive the guitar! Electronic-wise, all knobs, switches and output jack work perfectly.
It weighs a comfortable and balanced 7 lbs 12
This Stratocaster plays and sounds GREAT, and to me it has a Vintage look and feel to it because after all, its 30 years old guitar! Includes the original Fender hard shell case.

A little History on the Tex Mex Stratocaster.
The 1996 MIM Tex Mex Strat was the predecessor to the Jimmie Vaughan Strat. It comes with vintage-style tuners, the "spaghetti" Fender logo on the front of the headstock, and vintage-style tremolo (vibrato). The neck is nice and thick, with a (very minimal) satin finish. It's finish is Tobacco Sunburst, and it comes with Custom Shop Tex-Mex pickups.
The Body (believed to be an American Standard body) was made in the USA, and was sanded and finished in Ensenada.
Jimmie Vaughan had taken notice of Mexican-made Stratocasters in the mid-1990s and brought the idea of a signature model to Fender. After striking an endorsement deal in 1996, Vaughan collaborated with Fender in developing the Tex-Mex Stratocaster. The following year, Fender made a few minor changes to the model and it became the Jimmie Vaughan Tex-Mex Stratocaster, which is still in production today. This made the non-Jimmie Vaughan version of the guitar a very short-lived, somewhat rare model.

Please Read Before Purchasing
I strive to describe every instrument as accurately and honestly as possible. Please examine all photos carefully, as they are an important part of the description.
If you have any questions whatsoever, or would like additional photographs of any area of the guitar, please ask before purchasing. I am happy to provide as much information or as many photos as needed so you can make an informed buying decision.
This guitar is being sold as described and as photographed. Due to the age of the instrument and the subjective nature of vintage and used gear, all sales are final and no returns or refunds will be accepted. By completing your purchase, you acknowledge that you have reviewed the listing, examined the photos, and asked any questions necessary prior to purchasing. Again, I have no evidence to support that modifications have been made but I have been burned by a buyer before because the pickups in a Les Paul I had sold were upgraded at one point and I listed the factory specs.
Thank you for looking, and please don't hesitate to reach out if you'd like additional information or photos before making your purchase.
