Hello and welcome to the House of Chrome.

You are looking at a classic vintage 2008 Electro Voice RE-16 model dynamic cardioid microphone that comes with an original 310 model mic clip and E.V mic cable in which to operate. This rugged classic microphone has been made by E.V for over 50 years now but this is the earlier model made in the U.S.A with the built in bass drop off switch and is a very high quality studio mic used for several applications.

The RE-16 as of the past 15 years has been sold without the bass drop off switch. This example might have been the last year to that practical option.

Pic # 2 shows this very model in an older 1970's era E.V catalog I have showing a little info on the mic itself.

Pic # 3 shows a younger Steve Perry using one of these very mics while performing live.

This is only example I have to offer currently and it's a real gem. Interestingly enough the RE-16 utilized the same element and technology that was used in all RE-10, RE-11 and RE-15 model mics. The RE-16 was basically a more sophisticated RE-15 model mic with a larger pop filter. If you like the RE-15...you're going to love these older RE-16's.

The E.V RE-16 is a light weight microphone set at 150 OHMS (Medium to Low impedance) and it has a smooth, warm tone that's excellent for broadcasting and singing. This RE-16 model mic has the bass adjustment lever so you can add or decrease bass to the tone of mic as needed.

The RE-16 also uni-directional picking up only your voice directly in front of the screen and cancelling out unwanted background noise.

This RE-16 is one of the nicest I have seen in a while and was gently used. The chrome screens are very nice with zero tarnish, dents or odors. The painted body shows extremely lite lite wear. Zero dents or fractures but there is a couple tiny paint chips. The E.V label looks excellent and completely legible. I cleaned the XLR pins as well as they were slightly tarnished.

It should be noted that this mic has the original upper and lower inner foam liners. I usually replace them but the mic is only 18 years old so they are still in excellent condition. These inner foam screens greatly help with the acoustics of the mic as well as keeping the lower screen steady. The newer foam will last for several years to come. The foam / pop filter cuts down any unwanted feedback due to wind or breathing. If you buy a pre 2000 model you will usually have to replace the original foam.

The mic measures 7 1/2 inches long and 1 3/4 wide at the screen. Very light and versatile.

I'd give the mic a solid 9 + physically on a scale of 1 - 10. The real beauty is that sound it produces. The mic takes a standard XLR cable which is included. It's an E.V cable that's soft, pliable and appx 22 feet long making it excellent for stage and studio applications. Comes with to quality Switchcraft XLR connectors.                                                                                                                                                               The E.V 310 mic clip is also included and it fits the mic nicely allowing for a wide range of tilt up and down. The clip will screw on to any microphone desk or floor stand.  The clip is in very nice overall condition.   If you demand an excellent working RE-16 to use frequently...this is your mic.
