You are looking at a studio quality Electro Voice RE-10 model cardioid dynamic microphone made in the 1996 and manufactured out of Buchanan, Michigan. It comes with the original E.V 311 model mic clip and comes with the vintage plastic Zepher brand case shown in which to store.

 It should be noted right away that this mic has been thoroughly gone over inside and out and it's a very nice example overall working example that sounds as good as the day it was sold. 

 Pic # 2 shows the mics characteristics from an old E.V data sheet I have. The RE-10 model was identical to the RE-11 & RE-15 models except for two subtle differences. The RE-10, RE-11 & RE-15 had different front screens. The RE-11 had the largest and was ideal for situations where you needed more protection against "pops" from speaking or singing. The RE-15 had the best frequency response but the differences in frequency response were so subtle that it's virtually impossible to notice. You would generally need sophisticated sound equipment to see the difference as they all utilized the same low impedance element. The RE-15 was the best of the 3 and the RE-10 came in second. They are all very high quality mics however.

 Pic # 3 shows a young Stevie Nicks using the RE-10 while recording in a studio environment. These RE series mics were the best money could buy and continue to be some of the best mics ever made.

 The RE-10 is a lite weight all metal design that's built like a tank. These mics rarely ever fail and have good, strong output but they do need to be refurbished after many years of use if you plan on getting the most out of your mic. The RE-10 came with the bass drop off switch (as seen in pic # 15) giving it's user more control over the tone of the mic without needing an E.Q. This mic has a perfect working bass drop off switch. Make sure you get an RE-10 that doesn't have a defective switch as they can fail.

 This microphone sounds excellent and set at 150 OHMS which is technically low Z but I find to be more medium Impedance. It's not bass heavy like a Shure SM-58 microphone. It has a warm, rich tone on the lower Z setting and is excellent for broadcasting and singing. It has a higher pitched tone on the high impedance setting. A superb microphone all around. Easy to hold and superb uni-directional characteristics.

  The chrome mesh screen is very nice too with zero tarnish, odors or deformation. Mic has an original inner foam pop filter to help with sound characteristics. This helps cut down on unwanted "pops" from breathing to close or windy conditions. I normally replace them but this mic was so well stored that it didn't need to be replaced. The XLR pins on this mic have been cleaned as they were becoming tarnished from age ensuring a perfect signal with zero distortion once a cable is attached. No XLR cable is provided however.

 The pastel green paint on handle has just very lite wear. A few subtle scuff marks and lite scratches. It's free of any dents, paint chips or fractures. The E.V label shows just lite wear but completely legible. Again, a 1996 model and one of the last years to be sold.

 The RE-10 does come with the original black E.V 311 model mic clip that is in perfect condition and works great for this microphone giving the user a wide degree of tilt up and down as needed. The clip grips the mic firmly and will screw onto any desk or floor stand you have as well. It will keep the mic from falling out at any angle. The last thing you want is this mic falling from any height.

 You'll see that the older Zepher brand case is included as well and in excellent physical condition. It's an all plastic construction with a metal locking mechanism, rear joints and carrying handle. There is two new foam pads to keep the mic safe and snug. Locking mechanism works perfectly and it a nice accessory to have to keep this mic as safe as possible from physical damage. You'll really appreciate this case to store the mic in when not in actual use and it's period to the mic so it's a very cool accessory. 

 If you demand an excellent working RE-10 to use frequently...this is your mic and it will only increase in value due to physical condition and rarity.
