The PreSonus TubePre is a single-channel, tube-driven microphone/instrument preamp designed to add warmth, tube saturation, and clean gain to your signal before entering an audio interface, mixer, or PA system.
Front Panel Controls & Features
Drive: Controls the amount of signal sent through the internal 12AX7 vacuum tube. Lower settings keep the signal clean; cranking it adds harmonic saturation and grit.
Clip LED: Illuminates red when the internal signal is peaking or distorting overload points.
Phase Invert (\varnothing): Reverses the polarity 180^\circ—useful for correcting phase cancellation issues when multi-miking a source.
PAD (-20 dB): Attenuates high-output input signals (like hot condenser mics or active instruments) to prevent input clipping.
80Hz High-Pass Filter: Cuts low-end rumble, stage noise, or proximity effect pop.
+48V Phantom Power: Engages power for condenser microphones through the rear XLR input.
VU Meter: Displays output signal level.
Power Requirement:
The included adapter is a 16VAC / 1000mA (16 Volts AC) transformer.
