  You are looking at a high quality and very desirable Electro Voice 655C dynamic omni-directional microphone made in 1981 as shown on the serial number. Made in Buchanan, Michigan. It comes with the original E.V clip, cable, data sheet, suede mic sleeve. catalog and box shown. If you are a singer or broadcaster then you might want to consider this example. It's a very nice looking and excellent working 655C that will be great for just about any venue or live event. Great for recording purposes as well. This was and is a very high quality studio mic and one of the most successful E.V mics ever manufactured.

 Pic # 2 shows this very 1st generation 655C model in an old E.V data sheet I have. That 1st gen data sheet is not included but the actual original dat sheet is included as seen in pic # 6 however. You'll notice the 1st generation 655C had the rounded front grill / screen but E.V changed that front grill around 1960 to have a flatter surface like this mic this being sold. The old E.V catalog seen in pic # 7 is also included and has a ton of old E.V mics and products inside. A cool accessory.

 Pic # 3 shows the Beatles using this very model while recording live in concert sometime in the early 1960's.

 The 655C was actually one of the longest selling mics made by E.V with excellent tone and a great frequency response but it was a very expensive model in the E.V line up so limited quantities were sold each year making this a harder to come by mic just as the E.V 666. The mic was first introduced in the early 1950's I believe and E.V finally phased the mic out around 1990. A solid 40 year run. The 655C has the adjustable impedance as well though this mic is currently set at 150 OHMS which is not bass heavy. It's more mid range in nature with a clean, bright sound. If you need more or less bass the impedance board within the handle is adjustable. A soldering gun will allow you to switch the impedance in just a couple seconds.

 The 655C was a very lite weight, all metal design with a painted olive drab green body that reduced unwanted light glare than many of the early chrome mics put off under bright lights. The mic is appx 10 1/2 inches long X 1 inch wide.

 This microphone had omni-directional characteristics and could be set at either 50, 150 or 250 OHMS depending on the users needs. It takes the unique Cannon UA-3-11 style cable though which is provided. You can see that the physical finish is damn near perfect. There is a zero, scratches, pitting, paint chips, dents or fractures and the E.V label is perfectly legible.

  The painted metal mesh screen is very good too with zero tarnish, odors or deformation. The XLR pins on this mic have been cleaned ensuring a perfect signal with zero distortion once the cable is attached. The cable is soft, pliable and appx 18 feet long giving you more than enough room to work with. It comes with the Cannon UA-3-11 type connector made specifically for just a few higher end E.V mics. The cable alone is a $150.00. These are getting harder to find.

 The 655C also comes with the original E.V model mic clip that is in excellent condition and works great for this microphone giving the user a wide degree of tilt up and down as needed. The clip grips the mic firmly via a lower lever that adds or reduces tension as needed and the clip will screw onto any desk or floor stand you have as well. It shows almost no cosmetic wear. 

 The older mic box is also included as well and will do a great job of protecting the mic. The box has typical wear but these are getting harder to find as well and adds real value to the purchase.

 The original brown suede mic sleeve is in excellent condition and is designed to slip over the mic while in the box or on the stand and it keeps the mic safe from scratches or dings. It's a great piece of equipment for the 655C.

 The data sheet also shows wear but has a ton of technical info on this mic that will really come in handy.

 Overall this mic is physically a true 9 + on a scale of 1 - 10. This 655C will certainly draw attention anywhere it's displayed or used in the home, office or studio. They just don't come any nicer than this and I've been selling these for 16 years now.
