I purchased this in November of 2021 here on reverb. I haven't really put that many hours on this guitar as I have another Flying V that gets most of the use. This is one of the earlier "MOD" guitars as Gibson started that collection in July of 2021. I have copied the description from the original seller. Here it is.

This Gibson Flying V Custom shares all of the same feature of the standard Flying V Custom, including the ebony fretboard, multi-ply binding, and 490R/498T pickup set. As is easily seen it has one major difference. The top is factory done in a red sparkle finish. This isn't the first sparkle finish Flying V that Gibson has done, but it's our favorite of all of the ones we've seen.

The guitar is set up with a 9-42 stainless set of strings and has low fast action with no buzzing. The pickups deliver the sparkling cleans and grinding over driven tones one would expect from a guitar based on the Les Paul Custom.

The finish is in overall excellent condition, but there is a small scratch on the back of the neck near the headstock and a few other very light scratches around the back and sides. There is also a small amount of finish clouding and some scattered stray sparkles on the back. The back of the headstock is stamped "MOD".
