This Item has been adapter from three-prong power and has had XLR adapters attached to its line connections.
Item has also been fully recapped, has had the power resistors replaced, new power cable, and had lower gain mod put in to reduce noise significantly. All of this work was done right in here nashville in the summer of 2024.
The Altec 1591A uses separate mic and line inputs that can be used individually or mixed together. The mic pre has 60 db of gain, making it great for ribbon mics. The line input is transformer balanced, with 40 db of gain, and can be used as a second mic input for a dynamic mic. The main output is also transformer balanced. The opto compressor has a selectable gain reduction ratio of 5:1 or 10:1. Release time is either .5 or 1.5 seconds. The unit can be powered by a 12 or 24 volt battery.Reviews
