This beautifully crafted, unlabeled 16" Viola is attributed to the Laberte-Humbert Frères Firm Mirecourt France Workshop and is in very good overall preowned vintage condition and working order! Shows expected age/use/handling/storage related wear, surface scratches, scuffs, debris, etc. consistent with prior usage. Looks and sounds fantastic! Marc Laberte bridge. Upgraded at some point with Boxwood Teller Heart-Shaped pegs, Gotz chin rest and endpiece. Looks to have had 2 repairs, 1 on the left side of the top peg hole and 1 on the left side near the neck, as pictured. Both appear to have been professionally done. Includes the pictured Lifton hard case. No bow or other accessories.
Recently acquired at a local estate sale along with a Jago Peternella violin (*Sold) and an Albert Nurnberger bow (*currently available in our store!), therefore, the service history and provenance is otherwise unknown. I took the viola to a local violin and stringed instrument luthier to have it checked out and he felt it was in very good shape, playable and would only take very minor maintenance to get it to full working order!
Approx. 26 1/4" long end-to-end with a 16" body
