Anatolian Newt microtonal electric dulcimer - hand painted

We begin the story with my very popular Newt dulcimers, with their short necks, E tuning, and simple diatonic fretboards. I posted a clip of one of them and as part of the public response I ended up seeing Turkish Baglamas with their long necks and microtonal fretboards. I said "I have GOT to make me one of those!" So here we have the result. Long neck, bidirectional truss rod, 28 inch scale, four standard mountain dulcimer strings, microtonal fretboard, tunes to D. The traditional baglama / saz doesn't have any fretboard inlays, but I put a marker at the fret 17 octave because gee whiz. It's got my custom-made three pole magnetic pickup with tone and volume. It sounds very nice unplugged but isn't hugely loud. Sounds super sweet amplified. Hand-painted front and back. Mushroom knobs. MUSHROOM KNOBS! Strap. 36 inch overall length. A little under 3 pounds.
