1982 Gibson Heritage Korina Flying V – Early A-Series A090 – Tim Shaw PAFs – OHSC
Beautiful and extremely early Gibson Heritage Korina Flying V, serial A 090.
This is one of the early A-series Heritage Flying Vs from 1982 (maybe 1981), Gibson’s celebrated recreation of the original 1958 Korina Flying V. At only 6.3 lbs, it’s exceptionally light, resonant and a fantastic playing example.
The guitar is in VG+ condition with the kind of natural aging you want to see on a guitar that’s been around for more than four decades. There is light finish checking, light play wear, minor dings and scratches, and natural fading/patina to the gold hardware (mostly pickups). Nothing artificial here. It has aged beautifully.
Condition & Originality
The guitar is original with one known exception: the bridge pickup was replaced with a genuine period 1981 Gibson Tim Shaw PAF-style humbucker. The replacement is period-correct and the pickup’s Gibson patent-number baseplate and original markings have been photographed and documented.
The neck pickup, electronics, hardware, finish, plastics and tuners are original. There have been no breaks, cracks or structural repairs.
The neck is straight and the frets remain in very good condition with plenty of life. It currently plays extremely well with medium-low action. The guitar currently sets up and plays killer.
The original brown Gibson hardshell case with purple plush interior is included and is in excellent condition, including the original handle.
