Beautiful 1998 Kawai GE-1A Baby Grand Piano in polished ebony, made in Japan (Serial #2340630). This piano has been exceptionally well cared for and is in excellent overall condition.

A distinctive feature is Hirotaka Kawai’s signature on the cast-iron plate, a nice detail from this era of Japanese-built Kawai pianos.

We are the second owners and have owned the piano for approximately six years. It was gently played by our oldest daughter and has seen relatively light household use. Neither my spouse nor I play, and we are selling only because our daughter is now away at college.

The piano has always been treated with care:

  • Regularly tuned and maintained
  • Last tuned approximately one year ago
  • Always professionally moved
  • Never placed next to a window or HVAC vent
  • Kept in a climate-controlled home
  • Polished ebony cabinet is in excellent condition
  • Made in Japan

The Kawai GE-1A is a compact baby grand that provides the look, feel, and sound of a grand piano while fitting comfortably in a residential setting. It would be an excellent choice for a student, experienced pianist, family music room, church, studio, or anyone looking for a quality Japanese-built grand without the cost of buying new.

Reason for selling: Our daughter, who was the primary player, is now away at college.

Serious inquiries are welcome. Buyer is responsible for arranging professional piano moving.
