Epiphone J-200 Studio EC; Natural
The Epiphone J-200 Studio EC combines the commanding visual presence and expansive acoustic volume of the classic Super Jumbo silhouette with modern, performance-oriented versatility. Drawing direct inspiration from the iconic Gibson SJ-200, this acoustic-electric model incorporates a deep cutaway design, extending upper-fret access while retaining the acoustic power of its large-body format. Structural integrity and optimal acoustic energy transfer are established through a glued-in tapered dovetail neck-to-body joint, securing a mahogany neck shaped to a 1960s SlimTaper D profile for ergonomic positioning across the entire fretboard.
The instrument's tonal core centers on a solid spruce top paired with layered maple back and sides, delivering a bright, articulate sonic profile with exceptional dynamic projection and immediate response. A bound rosewood fingerboard houses 20 standard frets, accented by mother-of-pearl graduated crown inlays. Vintage aesthetic appointments honor traditional design heritage, including a bound 1960s Kalamazoo-style headstock, Epiphone Deluxe tuners with Keystone buttons, an iconic Moustache rosewood bridge with four pearloid inlays, multi-ply body binding, and a classic J-200 graphic pickguard under a high-gloss finish.
For amplified performance and direct recording, the instrument incorporates a Fishman pickup and preamp system. An under-saddle S-Core transducer captures fundamental string vibrations, routing the signal to a side-mounted Fishman Presys II preamp equipped with dedicated volume, bass, treble, and phase controls alongside an integrated electronic tuner. Complete with an included standard gig bag, the J-200 Studio EC provides high-fidelity tone, functional reliability, and historic visual styling.
