The Altec Lansing 847A "The Seville" is a vintage, high-end two-way loudspeaker system introduced by Altec Lansing in the mid-1960s. It was designed to offer the dynamic, high-fidelity sound performance of Altec's larger theater and studio speakers in a more compact, furniture-style walnut cabinet meant for home use. [1, 2, 3]Design and Specifications

  • Components: Typically features a 12-inch cast-frame woofer (such as the Altec 414Z or 414-8B) paired with a high-frequency horn tweeter (the 3000-series) and an N-3000E crossover network. [1]
  • Enclosure: Housed in an American mid-century modern style oiled walnut floor or standmount cabinet.[1, 2]
  • Impedance: Generally 8 to 16 ohms depending on the specific production year (early versions were 16-ohm, later revisions moved to 8-ohm components).
  • These are one owner speakers that were purchased new in the early 60s. Speaker cabinets are in excellent shape except for the broken spots in the grill as you can see in pictures. Fully tested and sound wonderful and it doesn't take much to drive them as they are very efficient. Pickup in Dennis Port MA.
