Hozen Green Label German Spruce/Spalted Maple Tenor Ukulele 2026

Putting this one up because I’ve been reshuffling the collection, and I’d rather see it go to someone who will play it than have it sitting in the case.

This is a Hozen Green Label tenor with a German spruce top and gorgeous spalted maple back and sides. If you haven’t played a Hozen, these are seriously impressive instruments. The build quality is excellent, and this one has a clear, articulate voice with great note separation and plenty of sustain. It fingerpicks beautifully, but it also has enough projection and punch to be a really satisfying strummer.

The spruce/maple combination gives it a very different personality from the usual koa or mahogany tenor. It’s crisp and responsive without sounding thin, with excellent definition across the strings. Visually, the spalted maple is spectacular and makes this a genuinely distinctive instrument.

Hozen’s Green Label instruments are their premium line, with features including their proprietary 3-strut fan bracing and high-end construction. Comparable new Green Label tenors are currently around the $2,200 mark.

It's in great condition, plays like a dream with the best note separation I've heard. Recently I owned an aNueNue Black Whale, and I would say that this is comprable if not better in most aspects.

It also comes with the coolest case that I've ever owned.
