Hi, I am looking to sell this Fender Japan ST62 ’62 Stratocaster Reissue in Candy Apple Red, as part of a general downsizing and clear-out of my instrument collection.

I bought the guitar from its previous owner, who had owned it from new since around 1990, and everything I have been able to establish points to it being a FujiGen-made Fender Japan ST62, most likely the ST62-500 model.

It is a lovely example of the late-’80s/early-’90s Japanese Fender Strats: very comfortable to play, with a classic vintage-style neck and a really good clean Strat sound. It has the usual combination of sparkle, bite and warmth across the three single-coil pickups and feels very much like a proper vintage-spec Strat rather than a modern interpretation.

The guitar is in good overall condition for its age, with some normal cosmetic wear consistent with an instrument of this vintage. Please see the photographs for a clear indication of condition.

I have listed it as an ST62-500 because the age, finish and specification are consistent with Fender Japan's 1990 ST62-500 model. However, as I have not removed the neck to inspect the factory model stamp, I cannot guarantee the exact -500suffix.
