The Gibson SJ-100 Gloss- Very Rare. (often produced during the late 1990s and 2000s) featured bubinga wood for its back and sides. Bubinga is an exotic hardwood from Africa sometimes nicknamed "African rosewood," though it is botanically unrelated. It provides the Super Jumbo body with a thick, punchy bass, crisp high-end, and a warm midrange: Gibson SJ-100 w/ bubinga wood. Bubinga is a gorgeous African hardwood.  Due to its fine, tight grain and its reddish-brown color, Bubinga is often referred to as “African Rosewood”. "African Rosewood, Kevasingo, Cssingang."
