JHS Germanium Boost OC-71
The JHS Germanium Boost (OC71) is a rare, limited-edition guitar pedal released in December 2022. Inspired by the vintage Dallas Rangemaster, it features New Old Stock (NOS) Mullard OC71 germanium transistors sourced from a private stash in the UK. The initial run of 700 units sold out in under ten minutes. Features and Sound Circuit Type: Treble booster modeled after 1960s classic rock tones used by Eric Clapton, Brian May, and Tony Iommi.Controls: Features a primary boost/gain knob and an extra toggle switch.Toggle Switch: Lets you change between a traditional tight treble boost and a secondary mode that adds extra low-end fullness.Transistor Scarcity: Built around the fragile and finite supply of vintage OC71 glass-encased germanium components, making further production runs unlikely.
