This is a vintage mid-1950s Califone educational speaker extension cabinet containing a premium Jensen Alnico 5 permanent magnet speaker. These portable speaker cases were originally paired with Califone classroom record players PA systems. This speaker is highly prized because its vintage Alnico 5 magnet delivers a smooth, natural compression that softens harsh notes when pushed hard. The lightweight paper cone creates a warm, textured midrange that makes instruments and vocals sound incredibly lifelike. Because it breaks up beautifully at a low wattage, you can easily achieve classic, vintage overdriven tones without needing to crank your amplifier to deafening volumes. This one here has been tested and is in working condition, however it is missing the back casing. Visually there are a few imperfections, photoed above, however said imperfections do not affect the functionality in anyway.
