Bahama Blue brings the figured maple top of this brand-new Suhr Standard Plus into focus. Its roasted maple neck and fingerboard provide a clear visual contrast, while the scraped binding outlines the top.

The basswood body is paired with an Even C Slim neck, a 10–14-inch compound radius and heavy stainless steel frets. V60 neck and middle single coils and an SSH+ bridge humbucker give this HSS model a useful range of clean and driven sounds. Suhr’s SSCII passive system reduces single-coil hum.

Hardware includes Suhr locking tuners, a TUSQ nut and a Suhr two-post tremolo with steel block. Supplied with a Suhr Travel Pro Premium softshell case. Available from The Guitarshop in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. We check and set up our guitars before dispatch. Contact us through Reverb with any questions.

A modern take on the classic S-style guitar

The Standard body is slightly downsized compared with a traditional S-style design and features sharper edge radii and slightly longer horns.

The result is a guitar that still feels immediately familiar and ergonomic, but has a more contemporary and refined appearance.

The Basswood body with Flame Maple top is a particularly well-suited combination for a modern high-performance instrument. The flame maple also gives the transparent Bahama Blue finish a depth and character that changes beautifully depending on the light.

The scraped natural binding around the top provides a subtle contrast and adds another premium touch to the overall appearance.

Roasted Maple neck and fingerboard

This Bahama Blue version features both a Roasted Maple neck and Roasted Maple fingerboard.

Roasted maple is not only visually distinctive, but pairs beautifully with the modern character of the Standard Plus. The satin neck finish gives the back of the neck a smooth, fast feel without the stickiness sometimes associated with a heavy gloss finish.

Combined with the Stainless Steel frets, this is an exceptionally smooth-playing instrument.

V60 single coils + SSH+ humbucker

One of the biggest strengths of the Standard Plus is its HSS pickup configuration.

The two Suhr V60 single coils deliver clear, dynamic and expressive tones with plenty of traditional single-coil sparkle. They work beautifully for clean sounds, blues, funk, pop and edge-of-breakup tones.

Switch to the bridge and the SSH+ humbucker takes the guitar into much more powerful territory.

It offers increased output, body and sustain, making it an excellent choice for driven rhythm sounds, modern rock and singing high-gain lead tones.

This makes the Standard Plus a superb choice for players who want one high-end guitar capable of covering a huge variety of sounds.

SSCII – true single-coil character with less unwanted hum

The Standard Plus is equipped with Suhr’s SSCII Silent Single Coil System II.

SSCII significantly reduces the familiar 60-cycle hum associated with traditional single coils while retaining their natural tone, dynamics and response.

The system is completely passive, so no battery is required.

Even C Slim neck & 10"-14" compound radius

Suhr’s Even C Slim .800"-.880" neck profile has a relatively slim, fast feel while still retaining enough substance to feel comfortable and natural in the hand.

The 10"-14" compound radius gradually becomes flatter as you move towards the higher frets. This provides comfortable chord work in the lower register while allowing large bends, fast runs and lead playing higher up the neck with ease.

The Heavy Stainless Steel frets add to the exceptionally smooth playing feel and provide outstanding resistance to fret wear.

Built for professional use

Suhr proprietary locking tuners provide excellent tuning stability and make string changes quick and easy, while the 2-Post Tremolo with steel block offers smooth, expressive operation with the stability expected from a modern professional instrument.

The result is a guitar that feels equally at home in the studio, on stage or as the centrepiece of a serious collection.

The Suhr Standard Plus HSS successfully combines classic versatility with modern playability, premium construction and a distinctive high-end appearance.

And in Bahama Blue over a figured Flame Maple top, this particular version is an absolute showstopper.
