Hate to do this! But I’m listing my Loar LH-600 - a fine archtop guitar reminiscent of the Lloyd Loar Era Gibson L-5. Great for Swing Jazz rhythm, blues, Western Swing, and old-time/country. This one is in awesome shape, as well as one of the early models (2008 - first year!) which features a nitrocellulose “small burst” with much more black/brown akin to the old Gibson than the more modern versions. Retail is $1,199. This one has upgraded Waverly Butterbean tuners ($240), a high quality period correct Loar era L5 tailpiece from archtop.com ($200), a custom floating pick guard and hardware from Paul Fox at Fox Guitars ($300), and an amazing condition and sounding original 1950s Dearmond FHC Guitar Mike pickup ($600). Have receipts for all of these items if interested. Would consider removing the Dearmond pickup for a reduced price. Original hardware include! Use it for a archtop project.
It has such a sweet voice to it! Recently went through top to bottom by a renowned luthier! was thoroughly impressed! Currently strung up with Martin Monel strings in medium gauge, it really plays great as is with a ton of room to move up or down the action via the adjustable bridge or different strings if desired. Truly sounds amazing both acoustically and plugged in.
Comes with a really sharp case that fits it like a glove! Best of both worlds, backpack case, with hardshell style protection.
The only flaw I have noticed is just some very subtle nitro finish cracking and small bumps on the headstock. The back of the neck has some small wear marks, but totally visual. I tried to show it in some photos, it is truly only cosmetic/non structural and has happened to any other nitrocellulose guitars I’ve owned. Personally think it’s awesome.
Please let me know any specific questions or photo/video requests!
As of now I’m going to ask please for no offers, as I’m only listing it here and at a fair price. If I do list it elsewhere would list it for more $.
Either way, really hoping this goes to a good home! These guitars, especially the first few years are known to have a quality way above its pay grade. This is a Gibson L5 on a budget! Without having to worry about it leaving the house. Gig ready! Amazing instrument. You won’t be disappointed!
