Restored ADS L570 Series II Speakers.

The Restoration Includes:

Full Crossover Recap: Precision spec-matched Polypropylene Film capacitors. These replace the aging 1980s factory electrolytics, restoring high-frequency clarity, improving midrange vocal response, and ensuring the crossover remains within spec for the next 40+ years.

Complete Woofer Overhaul & Rust Remediation: The original 8-inch high-compliance woofers were fully disassembled to address the common factory basket oxidation issue. The steel baskets were stripped of rust, treated, and sealed with a baffle-matching, flat black protective chassis coat (cured for 60+ days) to permanently eliminate acoustic seal leakage and voice-coil rubbing risks.

Mechanical Realignment & Assembly: The voice coils were hand-centered using a low-frequency sine-wave sweep matrix to ensure perfect alignment, then the spiders and surround gaskets were rbonded to the refinished basket using flexible nitrile rubber and specialized polymer adhesives to guarantee a permanent, airtight seal required for the acoustic suspension enclosure.

Cabinet Veneer Correction: The genuine Oak wood veneer cabinets were detailed to eliminate or greatly reduce most surface and cosmetic imperfections. The wood was then treated with a multi-step Howard’s Restor-A-Finish and Feed-N-Wax conditioning process to hydrate and protect the grain.

Grille Restoration: The original metal mesh grilles were stripped, structurally trued, primed and finished in satin black industrial enamel.

80-Hour Lab Soak Test: Every speaker undergoes a strict "burn-in" to ensure new film capacitors are fully settled and the system is mechanically and electronically stable before being offered for sale.

The Result: My 40 years of component-level experience ensures you are receiving a "bullet-proofed" pair of speakers that sound—and look—better than the day they left the factory. This pair provides the highly-regarded "East Coast Sound" that ADS is famous for.
