MIJ (Fujigen factory) Lake Placid Blue ST 57 Stratocaster.
SN (U056720) returns possible manufacture dates of ‘95-96 and ‘10-11– I cannot say when it was made, but it traces to Fujigen either way.
Tons of vibe— great looking and playing Strat. Hardware and plastics have aged, all for the better in my opinion. At some point the volume knob was replaced, which is why the coloration is different. Single ply white guard (very ‘50s). One tone pot for the neck and one for the middle. No tone on bridge (again, true to ‘50s)— easy mod if you wanted to change it. All original electronics. Set up with 10s. Frets are in good shape (as you can see).
Neck is what I’d call a C. It’s not skinny, but not thick. The lacquer doesn’t slow you down. It plays very, very nicely. A few dings in body and headstock, but nothing significant and nothing that has an impact on playability or sound.
Someone who owned it before me had a heavy hand and put some scratches into the finish and guard around the neck pick up. Nothing I can easily capture with photos. but noticeable in person. Didn’t scratch through the finish.
Comes with Fender Japan standard gig bag. The zipper on the pocket is broken, but the guitar itself zips in safe and sound.
MIJ Fenders absolutely rule. In taking the pics to list this I started to have second thoughts. I have another MIJ Strat otherwise I’d never unload this one.
Please reach out with any questions. Thanks!
