Professional Service & Internal Condition

This Akai AA-1030 was professionally serviced by Cove Electronics, 40 Broadway, Newport, Rhode Island.

Documented work includes installation of new lamps along with professional service and evaluation.

Detailed internal photographs are included to document the overall chassis condition, original construction, circuit boards, wiring, and visible service work.

The receiver shows evidence of selective component replacement consistent with prior service, including a number of electrolytic capacitors that appear newer than surrounding components.

Because the complete scope of earlier capacitor replacement is not documented, this receiver is not represented as fully recapped or fully restored.

This conservative description is intentional: Bash Vintage Audio does not characterize vintage equipment as completely restored or fully recapped unless documentation supports that claim.

The receiver will be functionally retested immediately before shipment.

Excellent Vintage Cosmetic Condition

This AA-1030 presents in excellent overall vintage cosmetic condition.

The brushed-aluminum faceplate is exceptionally clean for its age, featuring:

  • Attractive machined aluminum controls
  • Large aluminum tuning knob

It is not represented as mint, and detailed photographs are included so buyers can evaluate the exact condition of the receiver being offered.

Dual Phono Inputs – Excellent for Vinyl

The Akai AA-1030 is particularly appealing for a vinyl playback system because it provides two dedicated phono inputs.

Phono 1 and Phono 2 allow two turntables or compatible phono sources to remain connected without repeatedly changing cables.

For buyers building a classic analog system, the AA-1030 combines:

Turntable → Akai AA-1030 → Passive Speakers

with the convenience of integrated phono amplification, source switching, tone controls, tuner, headphone output, and speaker selection in one classic component.
