Brent Averill Enterprises Vintage API 312 Dual Mic Pre / DI with BAE SM+ Power Supply

A pair of vintage API 312 mic pre / DI cards racked by Brent Averill Enterprises in the original 1U factory chassis. The faceplate reads "MIC PRE/DIRECT BOX MADE FROM VINTAGE API COMPONENTS," which is Averill's designation for units built from actual pulled console cards rather than later recreations. Rear panel carries the Brent Averill Enterprises logo and the Hortense Street, Sherman Oaks address, the pre-BAE branding.

I bought this new in the early 2000s and I'm the only owner. It has lived in one private smoke-free studio its entire life. Never modified, never serviced, never on the road.

Included is BAE's current SM+ external power supply, purchased new directly from BAE. The original supply failed years ago and BAE recommended upgrading rather than repairing, since the newer design is a real improvement and supports two units. Only one in use here, so there's headroom if you add a second rack.

Each channel has PAD, polarity, 48V, gain, and a front-panel instrument input for DI use. Balanced XLR in and out per channel, pin 2 hot. Both channels function perfectly, all switches quiet, no noise issues.

I have not identified the opamp generation or transformer part numbers, and I'm not comfortable pulling the cards to check. I've included an interior photo showing the original build and untouched solder work. The cards can also be moved into a 500-series rack with appropriate faceplates if that's your preference.

Condition is excellent with normal rack wear. There is fine scratching on the top panel, visible in the photos. The faceplate is clean.
