Someone really put a lot of thought into putting together this custom order. Both sonically and visually this Nik Huber Krautster III is simply a knockout! This “next” generation of the Krautster may come in the Delphin shape, but it retains all the classic Krautster specs. But of course the first thing that immediately catches your eye is the phenomenal look: an “Exceptional Quilted Maple” top with a “Tiger’s Eye” finish that beautifully showcases the maple’s expressive grain. Combined with the cream-colored binding, the deep-dark East Indian rosewood fingerboard and the gold-colored hardware this guitar certainly belongs in the realm of luxury. ...and what the look promises is fantastically reflected in the sound and playability. The combination of the “Std. Krautster” neck profile with a perfect weight of just 3150 grams alone guarantees top-notch playability right out of the box. The one-piece mahogany body resonates beautifully and delivers excellent resonance even when played unamplified. As expected, the pickup combination — a P90 “1956” at the neck and a “Krautster B” humbucker at the bridge — guarantees a wonderfully multifaceted range of sounds. Here you definitely get the best of both worlds, as the humbucker, when distorted, offers everything from AC/DC to the Foo Fighters to a rich, modern Rock sound. Rich and uncompromising, perfect for heavy riffs and singing lead tones! And of course the neck P-90 also sounds great clean. Direct, crisp with just enough warmth for clean picking and warm Blues. Always beautifully balanced with a great frequency response. In the middle position it delivers great rhythm tones and the bridge pickup can also be split to add that final touch of tonal variety. Awesome! A superb guitar with a dreamy look in absolutely top condition!
