DESCRIPTION
This 2017 Fender FSR American Special Telecaster is a seriously cool take on the classic American-made Tele, finished in an eye-catching Aztec Gold with a matching painted headstock. The matching headstock really sets this one apart and gives it a look you don't see on your everyday American Special.

Built with an alder body and maple neck with a maple fingerboard, this Tele has all the snap, punch, and clarity you'd expect from a good American-made Telecaster. The Modern "C" neck profile is comfortable without feeling too thin, while the 22 jumbo frets make bends and faster playing feel easy.

A pair of Texas Special Tele pickups gives it plenty of classic Tele character, but with a little extra output and attitude. The bridge pickup has that familiar bite and twang, while the neck pickup stays warm and full without getting muddy. Fender's Greasebucket tone circuit is also onboard, allowing you to roll back the highs without adding a bunch of unwanted low-end.

The real standout here, though, is the FSR Aztec Gold finish paired with the matching headstock. It's a great-looking variation of the American Special Telecaster and a nice find for anyone after something a little different from the usual sunburst, black, or blonde Tele.

A great choice for the player who wants classic Tele feel and tone with a much less common factory look.

This is a 2017 model with a serial number starting in "17" - but the year of production comes back as "2018" when ran through Fender's serial lookup.
