1992 Gibson Earl Scruggs Golden Deluxe 5-String Banjo, Curly Maple, Greg Rich Era

This is a Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard Golden Deluxe from the heart of the Greg Rich era, and it is the sixth of the model ever built. It carries every quality of the best selling Earl Scruggs Standard with even more flare: a curly maple neck and resonator in a deep sunburst, gold plated and engraved hardware throughout, and the full hearts and flowers inlay from the peghead down the ebony fingerboard.

The interior label reads Earl Scruggs, Model Deluxe, dated 3-13-92, and the rim is stamped 92-06, making this the sixth instrument of the model from its first year of production. You will find an Earl Scruggs signature both on the label inside the rim and signed in marker on the inside of the resonator.

It is built the way a professional Gibson "Mastertone" should be: a hardrock maple three-ply rim, dual coordinator rods, a 20-hole Kulesh tone ring, and the gold engraved De Luxe tailpiece and armrest. Gibson Keith D-tuners are fitted on the third and fourth strings for smooth D tuning changes, and it has railroad spikes at the 7th, 9th, and 12th frets. We are happy to add more spikes if you would like.

The condition is honest for an instrument that is more than thirty years old. There is some tarnish on the gold, which is typical at this age, and some noticeable wear on the armrest. The frets have been dressed and it plays beautifully. It comes with the original "The Gibson" hardshell case.
