Fender Custom Shop 1966 Precision Bass Journeyman Relic – 3-Color Sunburst

The Fender Custom Shop 1966 Precision Bass Journeyman Relic recreates the look, feel, and tonal character of a mid-’60s P-Bass with carefully selected materials and period-inspired specifications.

Its 2-piece select alder body is finished in nitrocellulose lacquer with a Journeyman Relic treatment, giving the instrument the appearance and feel of a well-played vintage bass. The quartersawn maple neck features a 1960 P Bass Oval “C” profile and a 3A rosewood fingerboard, capturing the familiar feel of a classic 1960s Precision Bass.

A Custom Shop Hand-Wound ’65–’70 Precision Bass pickup provides the thick low end, warm midrange, and direct response associated with vintage P-Bass tone. The simple Volume and Tone control layout keeps the signal path straightforward and traditional.

Vintage-style hardware completes the package, including a 4-saddle bridge, vintage tuners, bone nut, and period-correct appointments. The 3-Color Sunburst version is paired with a 4-ply brown shell pickguard for an especially authentic mid-’60s appearance.
