Amperex 12AU7 60s - Clean

Up for sale is a nice matched pair of Amperex 12AU7 vacuum tubes, both originally labeled for Hewlett Packard.

Tube 1 – Made in Holland

•  Amperex / Hewlett Packard

•  Short grey plates

•  Halo (O) getter

•  Etched factory code: Δ O E 2 (Heerlen, Holland)

•  Classic 1960s Philips/Amperex construction

Tube 2 – Made in Great Britain

•  Amperex / Hewlett Packard (marked “BY AMPEREX”)

•  12AU7A

•  Short grey plates

•  Halo getter

•  Marked G F 2 (plus additional codes)

Testing

Both tubes were tested on a Precision 10-12z tube tester and measured:

•  73/100 and 73/100 (perfectly balanced sections on both tubes)
No shorts, no gas, strong and consistent readings.

These are the desirable short grey plate + halo getter versions that many audiophiles prefer for their smooth, detailed, and musical character in preamps, line stages, and guitar amps.

Lettering is still clearly legible on both tubes (see photos). Pins are clean. Tubes are used but in excellent working condition with strong emission.
