The sound of the Mappa Burl snare has the body and punch of maple with a bright overtone that is a characteristic of the walnut reinforcement rings that have been added to the inside of the shell. The sound of the drum is enhanced with a sharp attack and added projection provided by the die cast rims.
Mappa Burl is a decorative wood veneer characterized by its distinctive grain pattern that features light brown heartwood peppered by an unusual darker, bark-like pattern of tight clusters."
