This 2019 Tokai Love Rock LSS-230 is in excellent condition. This instrument shows little to no play wear throughout other than some very faint pick scratches on the pickguard and a pinhead sized ding on the top of the guitar underneath the wraparound bridge. Otherwise, it is super tidy. This instrument was meticulously crafted in Japan and features a two piece Honduran mahogany body, a one piece Honduran mahogany neck with a bound Indian rosewood fingerboard and a “See Through Yellow” nitrocellulose finish. The guitar has a killer feeling chunky “U” shaped neck profile with a 1 11/16” nut width that feels pretty similar to a Gibson Les Paul R8 neck carve. The Indian rosewood fingerboard is super clean, has nice color and the frets are in immaculate condition. This Love Rock has received a pro set up and it plays beautifully up and down the fingerboard with low smooth action and great intonation. The hardware on this guitar is top notch and features a Tokai original LPT-8N wraparound tailpiece, a cow bone nut, and a set of Gotoh 3SD-05MA vintage style 3 on a strip tuning machines with white oval plastic tuner buttons. Both of the Tokai LP-OLD Mk1 Alnico 5 P-90 pickups sound tremendous and deliver some nasty snarling woody yet articulate vintage P-90 tones! This instrument also features CTS potentiometers, orange drop capacitors, and a Switchcraft output jack and 3 way toggle switch. This instrument weighs 8lb 10oz and is housed in its original Tokai branded “50s style” hardshell case with brown Tolex outer covering and a nice plush pink interior.
