Exceptionally clean 1966 Fender Duo-Sonic II in its striking Dakota Red finish, complete with its original gray hardshell case with red plush interior.

I acquired this guitar directly from its original owner. After spending decades carefully stored under a bed, it recently received a professional setup and is now playing beautifully. Both pickups, switches, volume and tone controls are fully functional, delivering the bright, clear and wonderfully sparkly Fender tone for which these vintage short-scale guitars are loved.

Features include a comfortable 24-inch scale maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, two single-coil pickups with individual three-position switches, pearloid pickguard and adjustable hardtail bridge. The serial number, 132020, is consistent with 1966 production.

The guitar remains in remarkably well-preserved vintage condition, showing only light marks and small areas of wear consistent with its age. The Dakota Red finish remains unusually vibrant and glossy, and the original case is also very well preserved. It has very subtle natural checking throughout. A wonderful one-owner survivor with excellent provenance, strong collector appeal and the playability to be enjoyed regularly rather than simply displayed.
