Beautiful 1984 Fender Vintage Series ’57 Stratocaster Reissue, made at Fender’s Fullerton, California factory.

This is one of the early Fullerton-era American vintage reissues, finished in sunburst with a maple neck. It comes with its original tweed hard case, Vintage Series ’57 Stratocaster instruction manual, inspection/tag card and other pictured case candy.

The guitar is in very good condition for being over 40 years old. The nitro finish has developed some natural checking and a few small hairline finish cracks, but overall the guitar presents really well.

It has had some modifications over the years, which I want to describe clearly.

The bridge pickup cavity was routed for a humbucker at some point in its life. It has since been returned to the traditional SSS configuration and currently has a new Fender Pure Vintage ’59 loaded pickguard installed.

The original knobs and switch tip are still with the guitar. The tuners and bridge saddles are replacements. Around the tuner holes there is some visible discoloration/finish wear from a previous set of tuners, which appears to have removed some of the nitro around those areas. Please see the photos.

Everything else on the guitar is original to the best of my knowledge.

Also included are the loose electronics and parts pictured, which came with the guitar when I purchased it: one vintage-style Strat pickup, pots/electronics, switch assembly and related hardware. The pickup appears to me to possibly be original to the guitar, but I have not independently authenticated these parts, so I'm including detailed photos and letting the next owner make that determination.

Most importantly, it's a great-playing Strat. The modifications make this a Fullerton reissue that you can actually play and enjoy rather than worry about keeping completely untouched.
