Black Country Customs Monolith Distortion

Reluctantly letting this one go. It’s genuinely one of the best high-gain distortion pedals I’ve owned. Unlike many distortion pedals that can sound compressed or fizzy, the Monolith retains excellent note definition, punch and dynamics, making it feel much more like a great high-gain amp than a typical pedal.

Handcrafted in the UK by Black Country Customs (Laney), the Monolith has earned an excellent reputation among players looking for modern, articulate high-gain tones. If you’ve watched demos from That Pedal Show, Pete Thorn, or read reviews from players who appreciate premium analogue pedals, you’ll know this isn’t your average distortion box.

The dual-gain modes make it incredibly versatile, covering everything from classic hard rock and ‘80s metal through to modern progressive rock and heavier styles, while remaining responsive to your picking dynamics and your guitar’s volume control. It also stacks exceptionally well with quality amplifiers and overdrive pedals.

The only reason I’m selling it is that life has changed quite a bit recently. Between a much busier job and the arrival of our second baby, I simply don’t have the time to enjoy my gear the way I used to. Rather than have it sitting on a shelf, I’d much rather it went to someone who will get plenty of use and enjoyment from it.

The pedal is in excellent condition and works exactly as it should. It comes complete with its original presentation tin and has been well looked after in a smoke-free home.
