Here we have a near mint early 1998 Rickenbacker 360 12 string.

Cosmetically the guitar is very clean with just a few minor finish blemishes. The worst are 2 surface dents on the top I tried to show in pictures not through the finish and hard to see. The other is a very small chip of finish to the wood right next to the input jack. Otherwise there are sporadic very light hard to see scratches in the very surface of the finish again very hard to notice. Those are reflections you see alot of especially on the sides.

The frets are all there and just now showing the very slightest of surface wear in the first 3-4 frets. The guitar plays nice and easy with perfect string height and chimes out real bright and loud even when not plugged in. All original except for the very popular Winfield tailpiece mod described below.___________________________________________________________________________________________________________Winfield Trapeze Tailpiece mod: This is widely considered the gold standard drop-in replacement. Winfield manufactures a specific "R" replacement bracket that aligns perfectly with the stock screw holes, meaning you do not have to drill into your guitar. It completely eliminates the "baby dinosaur" slot and makes changing strings incredibly fast.

The "R1" prefix stamped on the jack plate confirms that this1998 Rickenbacker 360/12 Jetglo (JG) was manufactured in April 1998. The pot date code (1379746) aligns beautifully with an April 1998 assembly date. The code represents a component manufactured by CTS (137) during the 46th week (46) of 1997 (97), meaning the electronics sat in factory inventory for roughly five months before installation.

Body Shape: Semi-hollow "New Style" maple body with a rounded/contoured top edge, a sharp bound back edge, and a single "Cat's Eye" sound hole.

Finish: Jetglo (JG), Rickenbacker's signature premium high-gloss black.

Fingerboard: Finished, bound Rosewood with 24 frets and iconic pearloid triangle ("shark fin") position markers.

We are having and have had a lot of fun here at Gordy's Music! I was just remembering about 35 years ago a tour bus pulled up to our little shop, and who rolls right in and hangs out for an hour? Lenny Kravitz and his entire group, right about the same time I was selling many guitars to and chauffeuring around Dee Dee Ramone who had an apartment a block down from my house.
