REO Speedwagon, Bryan Hitt’s 2000s Ludwig -Axis Complete Drum Set. Signed! $12,995!
REO Speedwagon recorded sixteen studio albums, selling more than 40 million records including thirteen Top 40 hits, two of which reached the coveted number one spot. The band was founded in 1967 and spent years touring midwest bars, honing their chops and establishing themselves as a hard rockin', hard partying band that could get any crowd on it's feet. Over the decades, the band's sound became more mainstream, but at their core they were always a hard rockin' midwest bar band that could blow the doors off of any place they played.
Bryan Hitt joined REO in 1989 and quickly became a pivotal part of the band's sound and identity. He propelled the band with his hard hitting and super tasteful drumming until they retired in 2024.
Bryan Hitt played this Ludwig drum set with REO Speedwagon circa early the 2000s. The 10 drum Maple Classic set is finished in Green Sparkle wrap and includes a vintage 1960s 5x14 Supraphonic snare drum. Despite it's years on the road with one of the hardest touring bands in America, the set remains in in excellent+ condition, thanks to the loving care of Bryan's longtime drum tech John Aldridge. The finishes and hardware are near flawless. There is a slight split in the Green Sparkle outer wrap of the 18" floor tom about an inch from the bottom edge. I'm stumped how this could have happened. The split is only in the wrap. The wood shell is unaffected. There be some fingerprints or very mild oxidation on some of the lugs and hoops but it's minimal. The photos depict the condition of the set accurately. More photos are available.
The set includes Bryan's complete touring set of Ludwig cymbal stands, tom stands, snare stand, hi-hat stand, throne and and customized Gibraltar double bass pedal. It even includes Bryan's matching green sparkle stick bag and throne seat. All of the hardware is tour used and shows some minor scuffs but remains in 100% tour ready condition.
Bryan played the set in a variety of both single and double bass configurations throughout the years. Our live photos shows him playing in a single bass, single rack tom, two floor tom configuration. The ten piece set offers an almost endless number of potential configurations.
The Maple Classic set includes the following drums.
8×10, 9×12, 9x13, and 12×14 toms with RIMS mounts, 16x16 and 16x18 floor toms, two 14×22 bass drums and an 8x22 bass woofer. All 3 bass drums feature REO Speedwagon logo heads. The snare drum is a vintage 1960s Ludwig 5×14 Supraphonic 400.
The set will ship from Seattle, WA as crated freight. Plan on around $800 US freight shipping cost. Buyer will pay exact shipping charges. We will ship internationally.
Includes a certificate of authenticity signed by Bryan Hitt.
