For sale is a Japanese Fender STD-62-50 Stratocaster manufactured in 1986–1987. The F037559 serial number corresponds with this Fender Japan production period.

The STD-62 marking visible in the neck pocket, together with the original “50” model sticker, identifies the guitar as the STD-62-50 variant. This Japanese-made Stratocaster was inspired by early 1960s specifications, featuring a rosewood fingerboard, traditional dot inlays, vintage-style hardware and three Alnico single-coil pickups.

The guitar is finished in Vintage White, which has naturally aged into an attractive warm cream shade. The pickup covers and control knobs have also developed an even, aged colour, giving the instrument a coherent and authentically vintage appearance.

The body has the traditional Stratocaster shape with deep cutaways and comfortable front and rear contours. The maple neck is attached with a four-bolt neck plate, while the rosewood fingerboard features 21 vintage-style frets and traditional dot position markers.

The neck profile is comfortable and typical of Japanese models inspired by early 1960s Stratocasters. The scale length is 648 mm / 25.5", while the traditional fingerboard radius and vintage-style frets provide a classic playing feel.

The guitar is equipped with three original Fender Japan ST Vintage Alnico single-coil pickups. Their individual Alnico pole pieces, rather than ceramic bar magnets, provide a more open, dynamic and natural response.

The neck pickup offers a warm and full tone, the in-between positions deliver the characteristic Stratocaster quack, while the bridge pickup provides a brighter, more direct and articulate sound. The guitar works particularly well for blues, rock, funk, pop and traditional clean or lightly overdriven tones.

The instrument retains its original Japanese electronics and traditional control layout:

Technical and Cosmetic Condition

The guitar remains in very good condition for an instrument manufactured in the second half of the 1980s.

Only normal signs of use appropriate for its age are visible. The finish retains a very good gloss, and the body has no serious structural damage.

Natural ageing includes:

• Minor surface signs of use
• Natural patina on the nickel-plated hardware
