Available for sale is a 2002 Fender Standard Telecaster (MIM) in gloss black, with the following list of upgrades installed by a guitar tech:

* Original maple neck replaced with a custom Warmoth Pro neck; standard thin profile (their website compares this profile to a modern American Standard C neck shape) painted gloss black, rosewood fretboard with 10-16” compound radius featuring MOP dot markers, and a Tusq nut.

* Original tuners replaced with Fender locking tuners.

* Original Tex-Mex pickups replaced with a set of Lindy Fralin Blues Specials.

* Original control plate, including pots, knobs, switch and wiring, replaced with pre-wired Lindy Fralin control plate, including output jack.

* Original white pickguard replaced with a red pearloid pickguard from Warmoth. Original will be included for those that might prefer less flash! Although I don’t know why that would be …

Comes with aftermarket Gator hardshell case that has some light scuffs from pulling it in and out of my guitar closet.

This instrument was purchased new, and sometime after, realized I did not care for the original neck – at the time it felt too rounded and substantial for my hands – hence the reason for replacement. This guitar has been very well cared for and kept in the case when not played, and the black body and matching black neck give off a very custom appearance.

The Fralin pickups are hotter than stock - they still retain that pure Tele tone, but on steroids! Compared to the original pickups, this set is way more articulate, responsive, and has much more clarity and note separation, but with an edgy punch. The Fralin 3-way switch and knobs on the new control plate feel nice and positive, unlike the original equipment which had a lot of play or looseness in them.

This is a super clean near-mint guitar, but I have graded the condition as Excellent. In addition, realizing that you can’t always get a full return on what you spend on updates (I have over $1,300 into it), I feel I am asking a very fair price for this cool, hot-rodded Tele.
