Personal Thoughts:
This is a superb mid-2000s SJ-200 Historic Collection and a beautifully traditional example of Gibson’s flagship acoustic. The Vintage Sunburst finish works perfectly across the enormous spruce top, while the figured maple back and sides, ornate bridge, engraved pickguard and gold hardware give it the unmistakable stage presence associated with the “King of the Flat-Tops.”

The Super Jumbo body offers a huge, room-filling sound with strong projection, clear articulation and plenty of low-end authority. Maple back and sides help retain definition and balance, preventing the larger body from becoming overly loose or muddy, while the long 25.5" scale adds headroom and a firm response. These guitars are particularly impressive for powerful rhythm playing, open chords and vocal accompaniment, although a good example remains surprisingly articulate when played more delicately.

The Historic Collection specification adds further appeal, capturing the classic appearance and character of Gibson’s celebrated vintage SJ-200s. A commanding American acoustic with genuine visual presence, mature tone and strong collector appeal.

Condition Report:
Excellent condition. Presents very cleanly overall for a 2005 instrument, with only light signs of careful use and no significant wear or damage to mention. Supplied with its original Gibson hardshell case.
